Samantha Wilson 2012
After a successful 4 years at MICA, I graduated in May 2012. I then moved back home to Stamford, Connecticut and began working a few odd jobs and volunteering at a local gallery, Franklin Street Works.
Spring break of my last semester at MICA I visited Portland, Oregon and decided that was where I wanted to begin my professional career. The thoughtful nature and openness of the creative community in Portland drew me to pack my things and move cross-country.
In March 2013, I made my move to Portland. I soon joined PECI, a company that provides incentives to those who purchase energy efficient products and supports a more sustainable future. I also volunteer at Newspace Center for Photography, a community-driven photography center. I’m currently researching, developing and planning new projects incorporating photography, performance, installation and video.
