Call to Artists: the Ryan R. Gibbs Award for Photography
New Delta Review is now accepting submissions for the second annual Ryan R. Gibbs Award for Photography. For this contest, New Delta Review seeks a series of 10 photographs that will serve as the online cover pages for our journal’s winter issue.
This call for entry does not have a required theme. All subject matter and photographic processes are welcome. However, this year’s judge, Dallas-based artist Jesse Morgan Barnett (view his work and bio here) is particularly interested in objects, lives, and events associated with notions of the quotidian:
As Susan Sontag once said, “The life of the creative man is led, directed and controlled by boredom. Rather than avoid it, I wanted to think about it critically, and the more I thought about it, the more interested in it I became.”
The contest is open from Sept. 3 – October 15. There is a $10 entry fee. Winners will receive $500 and publication in the New Delta Review. Entries may be submitted here through our submissions manager. View last years winner, Noritaka Minami’s work here.
Best of luck, and we look forward to seeing your work.
