Internship Opportunity with The Smithsonian Museum

The Systematic Entomology Laboratory (SEL) is offering a museum educational internship program, within the Smithsonian Institution’s general internship pool, that encompasses project oriented learning opportunities. Areas of learning opportunities include; curation, digital image processing, insect specimen preparation, electron microscopy, and macro-photography. Projects will require training and guidance from a mentor during the length of the project.

Areas for internships include: curation, digital image processing, insect specimen preparation, electron microscopy-photography, insect identification and macro photography.

The internship is located in Washington, D.C. at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.

Note from Megan Rogers: The position description may seem dry, but the internship is a fun way to combine an interest in insects and art and design.  There are opportunities for photographers, illustrators and other artists interested in helping scientists visualize information about insects.
