Taken from the city paper’s website:
The photography interns spend one shift per week working with other editorial interns, checking the facts in all of City Paper’s articles and listings, so everything from the compilation of shows and concerts in town to features covering Baltimore’s drug and crime scene. Interns also maintain the City Paper online calendar (and ultimately, its published weekly calendar), which familiarizes them with goings on in Baltimore. But the photography interns will spend at least one shift per week working directly with a photographer or in the field with a writer (as a working photographer would) and will provide photo galleries for the website and photographs for stories in the paper, while also assisting and learning from the photographers they shadow and the writers they assist.
Apply by sending a brief cover letter, your resume, and 2-3 writing samples (preferably published work; no poetry, please), and 2-3 photography samples. The internship must be for credit and we have a 120-hour minimum policy. Interns usually work 10 hours a week (two five-hour days).
