We are thrilled to announce the addition of Sally Mann to our fabulous line-up of artists at the 2015 Festival. She joins Larry Fink, Zanele Muholi, Walter Iooss, Alec Soth, Vincent J. Musi, David Alan Harvey, Piotr Naskrecki, Monica Haller andAndrea Douglas.
Sally Mann has been involved with LOOK3 since 2007, when she was a Featured Artist. She was with the Festival again in 2011 to interview Nan Goldin. Sally returns to LOOK3 to share her new book Hold Still with us this year. She will give a presentation at The Paramount Theater on Friday, June 12 during the 11:00 am to 1:00 pm slot. You may purchase tickets for the talk on The Paramount website. Following the talk, at 1:15 pm Sally will hold a book signing with Alec Soth at Second Street Gallery.
Her works are included in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the Museum of Fine Arts, in Boston, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Whitney Museum of New York City among many others. Sally has received numerous awards, including NEA, NEH, and Guggenheim Foundation grants, and her many books include Second Sight (1983), At Twelve (1988), Immediate Family(1992), Still Time (1994), What Remains (2003), Deep South (2005), Proud Flesh(2009), and The Flesh and the Spirit (2010).
