K*MoPA call for entries
Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts wants to buy art from YOU!
K*MoPA (Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts) is currently seeking applicants for it’s annual “Young Portfolio Acquisitions”. The Young Portfolio is an annual project of the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts to offer support to young, developing photographers by purchasing their work for it’s permanent collection. As long as a photographer is under 35 years of age, he or she can participate as many times as they like. The result is that there are several artists who have taken part over a ten year time period, some of whom have as many as one hundred works in the museum’s collection. Whether you are a new photographer, or have been working and getting published for years does not make a difference.
The museum selection committee’s goal is to collect work that resembles nobody else’s, to invest in works that are not bound by existing photographic methodologies, and to support artwork that is timeless. They seek submissions that display a determination to broaden the range of photographic expression, and the conversation that the photographer conveys to their audience.
