CALL FOR ENTRY: DARKEST BEFORE THE DAWN EXHIBITION

galleriesDarkest before the dawn… the earliest citation of this saying was by a man named Thomas Fuller in the year 1650. The saying was meant to express to people that situations always seem the worst that they could possibly be, right before the circumstances change for the better. This fits with this exhibition because for many years dark colors have widely represented feelings such as depression and gloominess; but this exhibition will bring to the forefront what elegant and mystifying beauty dark colors offer. Artists will be asked to use dark colors, within their selected medium, to express elated exquisiteness.

This exhibition will be on display from November 10th – December 17th at the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts Openshaw Balcony Gallery located on the 3rd floor of Maryland Hall (801 Chase St, Annapolis, MD 21401). The opening reception will be November 10th from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM.

With this exhibition we are looking to showcase up-and-coming artists that are dedicated to showcasing their work to diverse audiences. We look to create an imaginative setting to display the artwork in-order for it to receive the highest degree of appreciation.
