Lens Culture has full-time position open

Lens Culture seeks full-time editor…

 Job Opening: Editor/Writer/Journalist
— International Online Photography, Arts and Culture Magazine
LensCulture, the world’s leading online platform for discovering the best in contemporary photography, is seeking an experienced editor/writer/journalist to join our team. We’re looking for someone to help us discover the most interesting people working with photography everywhere in the world. We’re passionate about photography as a visual language — and we work hard to discover the most interesting artists and photographers around the globe. We take our jobs seriously every day, and we strive to inspire and educate and delight our monthly audience of 2.8 million worldwide.
So, if you are passionate about photography and visual culture — and you’re an excellent writer, interviewer, researcher and hard-working team player — we’d love to hear from you.
As an important member of the international team, you will be responsible for working in several key areas:
• Discover, source, and develop new content about contemporary photography.
• Write, edit, and produce content (feature articles, interviews, reviews, opinion).
• Write and manage social media and weekly newsletters.
• Plan, develop and manage long-term editorial publishing calendars.
• Schedule and oversee production of new video content.
• Help manage and edit creation of content by contributing writers.
• Take lead management roles in special projects.
• Participate in LensCulture exhibitions, workshops and events around the world.
We’re looking for a person with relevant experience in writing, photography and media (magazines, publishing, online platforms), as well as a degree in journalism, communications or literature. You must be a native English speaker, with excellent skills in writing, editing, proofreading, and a passion for details.
While we have an editorial office based in Amsterdam, our team is geographically dispersed around the globe, and we collaborate with each other daily via video conferencing and project management software. You are welcome to join us in Amsterdam, or there is an option to work from your own independent location.
In addition to working closely with our small team, you will be in contact daily with international photographers, museum curators, festival directors, journalists, contributing writers, photo editors, educators, videographers and visual storytellers.
If you are interested and qualified for this job, please send a cover letter, your resume, and 1-3 samples of your writing or other relevant experience. Candidates who seem most interesting will be asked to provide the names and contact information of three professional references.
This is a full-time position with growth potential. Please send all correspondence to jobs@lensculture.com. Thanks!
