We would like to announce that we are currently conducting a search for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Photography here in the School of Art at California State University, Long Beach.

The Photography program at CSULB emphasizes the medium’s central position in contemporary art practice, and embraces both expanded and traditional approaches, facilitating a wide range of student interests. The program serves BFA/MFA Photography majors, BA, BFA and MFA Studio Art majors, Photography minors, and non-majors pursuing photography coursework. Course offerings currently include such topics as contemporary practices in color photography, the moving image, digital photography, advanced black-and-white printing, studio practices, a theory and criticism seminar, experimental approaches, and a senior level course in photo-based art making. The program is enriched by the School of Art’s breadth of curriculum, active student art galleries, distinguished visiting artists and scholars, CSULB’s campus art museum, and its proximity to the many museums and galleries in the greater Los Angeles area.
